Advanced Blackjack Strategy
The technique of blackjack card counting will increase your chances of winning at blackjack. A blackjack player will have to learn the strategies of blackjack first before card counting can be successful.
The concept of blackjack card counting is when a deck of cards has more 10s, face cards and aces left in deck, the advantage is for the blackjack players and that means make larger bets. If the deck of cards is filled with smaller cards the advantage is to the dealer which means wager small amounts of money.
So, if the card deck is filled with 10s and face cards the chances are good that the dealer will bust. However, you have the option of standing on your hand. The opposite is true if the deck contains more cards that are smaller which makes the dealers chance of winning greater. If you use this blackjack technique of card counting you will know when the deck is in your favor or not.
An example, if the dealers hand contained a 10 & 6 and the card count indicated that there is a lot of larger cards in the deck and a good chance of busting, the dealer has no choice but to take another card. To take a card with a 10 & 6 and knowing the deck is filled with 10s is the wrong move.
Also keep track of how many aces left in the deck, more aces means better odds for the casino player and better odds hitting 21 more often, plus a larger payout of 3:2 in winnings.
Blackjack card counting is not by memorizing the cards being played. Successful blackjack card counting is accomplished by assigning numbers to the cards played, different card numbers with point values. Cards from 2 thru 6 have point value of +1, cards from 7 thru 9 have a point value of 0, and cards that are 10s, jacks, queens, kings or aces have a point value of -1. This card counting system is easy to remember and follow.
This system is based on a plus/minus strategy, where you assign a point value for each card being played. As the cards are being dealt you add up the plus/minus numbers. What this is called the “running count” of the cards.
A clearer example would be, if a jack was dealt the count would be -1. Then if a 5 is the next card dealt add 1 to the count. The result would be a running count of zero. So if cards 2, 3 and 6 follows, making the running count now 3.
Once you have a running count, divide that number by the number of decks left in the shoe that the dealer is using for that blackjack table. This is the true number that you will use to place the appropriate bet. This is how you use this blackjack card counting strategy.
