Gambling At Casinos In Saint Kitts And Nevis
The smallest nation (in terms of land area) in the Western Hemisphere, Saint Kitts and Nevis might not seem like the most obvious place to find good gambling opportunities. Yet this tiny Caribbean state, which with a population of just 43,000 is the least populous country to have United Nations membership, enjoys the facilities of two fully-fledged casinos, including the celebrated Royal Resort casino.
Surprisingly neither of Saint Kitts and Nevis Casinos are found in the capital city (if one can term a town of 15,000 people a city) of Basseterre. Instead both of the casinos are located in the Frigate Bay resort, which is found on one of the nation’s many islands.
The Royal Resort Casino, at 858 Frigate Bay Road, offers an incredible 35,000 square feet of gambling opportunities. There are a scarcely believable 403 slot machines, and – we’re now talking Las Vegas proportions – 34 gaming tables. These offer a huge range of games, including 3 card poker, Baccarat, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Craps, Let It Ride and Spanish 21 (a version of standard Blackjack using Spanish decks of cards).
When – if – one gets bored of this huge gambling opportunity, the hotel has 523 rooms and 113 suites for the discerning traveller, along with six restaurants (including the West Indian themed Blu, an Italian called Cucina, and the Royal Grille Steakhouse). For relaxation there is the Emerald Mist Spa, and three swimming pools. For those more keen on exercise there is a wide range of other outdoor pursuits, including horse riding, jet-skiing, and scuba diving.
The Royal Resort Casino is not the only Saint Kitts and Nevis Casinos. The Jack Tar Village casino, which has reopened in 2006 after a refurbishment, is on a Northeastern part of the Leeward Islands, with views of both the Atlantic and the Carribean sea. The casino offers gamblers fifty slot machines and for the more experience, six tables playing Baccarat, Blackjack, Craps and Roulette. For when guests tire of trying to beat the odds there are four restaurants for their pleasure, the Batik Bar and Grill, the Cabana Beach Bar, the Caruso (an Italian), and the Topaz. There are also two bars, a piano bar for those of a musical bent and the Piazza Bar. The opening hours of the casino and bars are 10:30am to 2am, so it will suit both early birds and night owls.
So Saint Kitts and Nevis Casinos offer a superb range of games to the gambler, both the experienced and those merely there for a holiday of a lifetime.
